Hello!  Thanks for visiting my page.

My name is Amy and I’m a 21 year college student from Columbus, Ohio.  My passions are health, fitness, and anything/everything that has to do with the two.  This brings me to why I’m starting this blog.  I stumbled across a couple of “healthy living” blogs about a year ago and I have been reading blogs on a daily basis ever since.  I even started a blog of my own but couldn’t quite keep up on it so I stopped posting.

I was an overweight child and finally started becoming aware of the nutrition aspect of food and importance of exercise when I was about 14.  After that, I began making a conscious effort to eat healthier and I joined the track team.  The excess weight disappeared and I continued my new, healthier lifestyle to ensure it wouldn’t come back.  All through high school I felt like I was “that” girl.  You know, “that” girl who packed her lunch to avoid the unhealthy school lunches.  “That” girl who preferred Subway or Panera Bread over the dollar menus at McDonald’s or Wendy’s even though they are significantly more expensive.  “That” girl who only drank diet soda because she was aware of the empty calories.

I always felt alone.  It bothered me that friends and family constantly made jokes at my expense about the food I ate or didn’t eat.  “Why do they care anyway?” I was constantly asking myself.  Reading blogs, however, made me realize there are plenty of people just like me and the comments and jokes don’t bother me as much anymore.

I missed contributing to the blogging world and decided I wanted to start another blog.  I’m currently in the midst of my junior year of college and a few months ago I made the bold decision to transfer universities.  I wasn’t happy at the school I was attending, nor was I happy with where I was in my college career.  So, I recently moved 1.5 hours away from my home in Columbus to begin my new experience as a dietetics major at the University of Cincinnati.  I love it and I’m so glad that I made the change.  Sometimes you just have to take the plunge!  This blog will center around my new life and all things fitness, food & fashion.
